Karolina Gustafsson — researcher in art history at Uppsala University

Karolina Gustafsson is a researcher and PhD candidate in art history at the Department of Art History, Uppsala University, Sweden. Her doctoral project Maktens rum explores the intersections of material culture, architecture and power during the long 18th century — asking how objects, interiors and architecture shaped identity, status and gendered agency for princesses and queens consort.

Alongside her research, she lectures on 18th-century Swedish art and material-culture theory, supervises theses, and represents doctoral students in faculty committees. She holds an MA in Art History with a specialization in Technical Art History from Stockholm University and a BA in Art History from Uppsala University.
